Business Analytics & IT · Rutgers Business School · Class of 2028

I am Sushant, and I love making ambitious things work.

A textile mill in Tamil Nadu taught me how a business really runs, and now I am in pursuit of building my own.

01The Mill · 2018 – 2026

Where the thread starts.

At eleven I started going to my family's textile mill with my grandfather, who explained every process to me. I came back every school break for the next eight years, learning from the people who run it.

Each break brought more: checking incoming orders against physical stock, verifying raw material quality before it entered production, and working with plant staff to bring the facility into regulatory compliance.

02The Ledger · Finance & Accounts, 2026

I learned finance to understand my family's businesses.

That is where finance started for me, not Wall Street. In 2026 I reconciled $70K+ a week in billing and purchases across three accounts in Tally, worked alongside two accounts staff, and supported month-end close.

"I didn't want to experiment with the company data with AI. At least not yet."

I have also reconciled marketplace settlements for fashion brands, from the sticker price down to what a brand is actually paid. Hover the chart to walk the chain.

Every rupee between the sticker price and the payout has a reason. This is the chain I reconcile.

03Early work · FIRST LEGO League

The first thing I built.

For FIRST LEGO League, I built a rover that sorted trash. A pressure sensor told it when a bin was full. I programmed it in LEGO's EV3 blocks.

Most of what I have built since, from an ERP to a pitch, comes back to the same question that rover asked: what is going on here, and what should happen next?

04The ERP · Two drafts

The first draft was for a factory that doesn't exist.

I built the mill's ERP from scratch. The first design assumed a fully automated plant. The real mill runs on heavy machinery, but it depends on people at nearly every stage.

So I rebuilt it around them. The prototype now trains staff, with a target of a 40% cut in production cycle time. Rollout is pending.

A simplified sketch of the idea, not the real schema.

Draft two: work routes through the people who actually run the floor.

Redington Ltd

IT Intern

The world's seventh-largest technology distributor, operating in 40+ countries. Working alone, I built dashboards on employee IT support tickets to show where internal IT support could serve its users better, and presented what I found to my mentor.

I also trained across SAP (SD, MM and FICO), running the full order-to-delivery cycle on historical data spanning millions of products and vendors.

06The Pitch · RideRutgers, Feb 2026

Fifty-plus teams. One team.

I co-founded RideRutgers, a student rideshare, and built its pricing model, projecting 67% lower rider costs than Uber and Lyft.

Together we reached the ScarletPitch semi-finals from a field of 50+ teams. Since I write scenes anyway, here is the moment I remember most, written the way I would shoot it.

07Iterum · TechStart 2026
Competition project

Iterum. Latin for again.

For TechStart 2026, two teammates and I designed an audit for buildings about to come down. A walk-through scan and AI flag the reusable steel, wood, brick and glass, weigh what each is worth against what it costs to remove, and hand the crew a plan. A human expert reviews every report.

I led the business side. Afterwards I showed it to 7+ real estate professionals, who said they would use it and asked to see a working pilot.

08The writer's room

I break scenes down shot by shot.

I watch films and shows of every kind, in English and across Indian languages. I keep a notebook of story ideas, and when one sticks, I plan it the way it would be shot.

Here is one of them, storyboarded. Step through the frames.

Also in the notebook

  • A Story of Two People
  • A Complicated Love Story
